For some people, going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries when you choose to worship with us, here's a quick look at what you can expect at Colfax First. First of all, we aren't super-spiritual beings - we all had a 'first day' at church. You will find we are a friendly bunch. If you don't understand something, please simply ask. We have a 10am traditional worship service each Sunday. This service starts with a prelude, lighting of altar candles and an opening praise song, accompanied by an acoustic or electric guitar. Then we take a few minutes to share a simple message with children each Sunday (who are then dismissed to children's Sunday school time for the rest of the service during the months of September to May). We spend some time (10-15 minutes) worshiping in a variety of ways. Our traditional service consists of hymns accompanied by piano and/or organ and sometimes guitar. We have time to pray together as a church family and then we have a message by our pastor from the Bible that is relevant and meaningful to our daily living. We typically finish with a hymn and a blessing from our pastor as we are sent into our world to serve Christ. Our worship service lasts about 60 minutes. On the first Sunday of each month, we also celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion, which is open to all. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you will be encouraged and inspired by morning worship. Come and check us out - we'd love to get introduced to you!
We are dedicated to fulfilling our mission and ministry in the community of Colfax as we worship God, grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, and serve Christ and our community together to transform lives for Jesus Christ.
